Been a long time since I rock and rolled

Been a long time since I updated this blog too. I just got back from a long visit to my mom in Arizona. It was a great trip. I finished reading Here There and Everywhere, my life recording the Beatles by Geoff Emerick. But that was as close to playing music as I got. You see I did not bring any instruments with me. 10 days with no guitars, basses or even harmonicas. I was thinking back and forth that I might run to Wal-mart and get a $20 kids first act and just noodle on it. Instead I did nothing like that. I did listen to my Ipod a lot, and I helped my mom learn to use her Ipod. This is a big deal, you see my mom is the one who really got me into listening to music, and taught me to open my ears to all kinds of music. But sadly, she is now profoundly hearing impaired. She can still hear okay at concert level volume, but any background noise makes hearing music almost impossible. But with the Ipod and some decent in-ear style earbuds, she can hear the music. That made the whole trip for me.

Thanks Mom, it is your fault I love music so much.
